My 10 Tips For Maintaining 7% Body Fat
Knowledge is valuable when it comes to many things. Staying in shape and keeping a low body fat percentage is no exception. I have been practicing what I teach for so long that it is "second nature" for me now. Below I have listed ten things that I do to maintain a body fat percentage of 7%.
Helpful Tips for Keeping the Body Fat Low:
1. Eat foods that are the closest to their natural state.
The closest we keep foods to the way they were intended to eat the better off you are. On the other hand, the more food is processed the least amount of nutritional value it has.
2. Keep your meals high protein, low to moderate carbohydrates.
When I say low to moderate carbohydrates, I am not saying to drastically reduce your carbohydrates. What I am saying is that it is better to limit those high starchy "carbs" because these kind of "carbs" turn into sugar in the body. This, likewise, becomes fat if it is not burned off.
3. Eat smaller, more frequent meals (5 or 6 small meals per day).
It is a proven fact that smaller, more frequent meals are healthier and help you keep the body fat low.
4. Avoid processed or canned food whenever possible.
There are dangerous chemicals, additives, and preservatives that harm your health over time.
5. Beware of the fat free or low fat yogurt.
Normally, they contain a lot of sugar which turns into fat in the Body. Just because the label says fat free or low fat does not mean that it is not fattening. The sugar content on the label is what you need to watch out for.
6. Eat your last meal at least two hours before going to bed.
If you eat shortly before going to sleep, all that food you just ate will not digest and will turn into fat while you sleep. This is how the Sumo Wrestlers get so fat.
7. Take fish oil capsules to ensure you are getting the right amount of good fat (Omega 3 fatty acids) in your diet.
There are numerous benefits to taking fish oil capsules. One of these is the ability to help keep the body fat low due to the omega 3 fatty acids.
8. Do most (about 90%) of your grocery shopping on the outside walls of the store.
This is where the meat, dairy, fruits, vegetables, fish, etc. are. Most junk foods and processed foods are in the aisles. Check it out.
9. Do not go grocery shopping when you are hungry. Eat one of your meals or snacks before you go.
This will help you to avoid buying everything in sight.
10. Exercise.
Your metabolism or your ability to burn fat will greatly accelerate when you combine exercise with your good eating habits.
