A Tip For Those Who Are Relocating
What an Aggravation!
Do you recall the hassle of trying to find the address of someone who has recently moved? What a pain! Their phone number is different and they aren't in the phone directory yet, and their work place won't give you their new location. You can call their friends and family, but most of them are in the same boat as you are and have no idea how to contact them. The Witness Protection program couldn't hide someone that well.
Some Options, But Not Good Ones
Whether you're relocating across town or across the globe, you need a convenient way to notify your friends and family about your new digs. Sure, you could send an e-mail or a letter, but it takes only a day or two and they are lost in the shuffle. Another option would be to call everyone on your list, but that method is even less effective than the previous two.
Here Ya Go!
If you want to make sure the important people in your life have your new address and phone number, give a "moving magnet" to them. Have the supplier put a photograph of you, or of you and your new home on it. With the address and phone number printed on it, it will be placed on a refrigerator, or a computer case, or a filing cabinet at work. The recipients can quickly and easily see your new information. The will even give your friends that have black-belts in procrastination enough time to eventually put your new info in their address book.
The examples I have seen are great. I especially enjoy those with pictures of the new home. You're probably quite proud of it, so why not show it off? Other clever magnets have pictures of large front doors with "We've Moved" signs tacked to them which displays your new information. Still more options show mailboxes or yard sign pictures that note where you have moved.
Regardless if you choose a conventional style or a humorous magnet, it is a very thoughtful way to inform everyone where you live.
