Reaping the benefits of ezine publishing isn't difficult once you have subscribers and content but for beginning Internet marketers the latter can sometimes seem a daunting obstacle to their success. Thankfully, good content for your ezine isn't as challenging to acquire as you might have thought.

Old versus New Content

An early ezine publishing decision you'll need to make is whether to use new or recycled content for your publication. New content would be completely original and written either by you or by a ghostwriter for the specific purpose of being in your publication. On the other hand, recycled content has usually appeared in multiple publications and is usually written by a third party author.

One advantage of recycled content is that it is often available for free. However, if your ezine material is showing up all over the Internet it's unlikely to make much of an impact on your target audience.

New content is better for establishing credibility and attracting an audience but unless you are confident in your writing skills it will cost more because you'll need to hire writers.

Who Authors the Content?

With ezine publishing, you want to impress your audience with your knowledge of the subject or industry. If everything in your publication is written by someone else, you probably won't achieve that goal.

That doesn't mean you can't use other writers, just make sure you purchase exclusive rights to their work and hire them as ghostwriters so they don't expect a byline. You can also include an occasional article written by someone else but in ezine publishing you want most of the content to have your name attached.

The bottom line is that to benefit from ezine publishing you need fresh content credited to you. Mixing it up with recycled content and other writers occasionally can keep your publication from feeling stale but it should never account for most of your ezine.
